World Cup Qualifiers 2022 Asia Third Round. The AFC third round of Asian teams for the Qatar FIFA World Cup will start from 2 September 2021 to 29 March 2022. The 2022 World Cup and Asian Cup 2023 joint qualifiers round number 2 have ended on June 15 and hereby eight groups of 12 teams are up for the third round in the Qualifiers of the World Cup.
The fifth best runner-up will take Qatars place in the World Cup qualifying third round. 12 AFC teams will compete in Round 3 for four automatic spots at Qatar 2022. Asias second round in Qatar 2022 qualifying came to a close on Tuesday.
The third round will determine the four winning teams advancing to the World Cup and two teams who will fight for their place at the inter-confederation playoffs in June for one last chance at qualifying.
